Sri Lanka cricketer Ashen Bandara was arrested on Saturday after allegedly assaulting his neighbor over a parking dispute. The incident took place in Kolamunna, Piliyandala, where Bandara reportedly entered his neighbor’s house following a heated argument about a vehicle blocking the road.
The 26-year-old cricketer, who has represented Sri Lanka in six ODIs and as many T20Is since his international debut in 2021, was taken into custody after the confrontation escalated from verbal to physical.
Sri Lanka Police revealed that Bandara’s neighbor had lodged a complaint about his disruptive behavior and trespassing into their home. According to the police, the situation quickly turned physical. Bandara was arrested on suspicion of assault on Saturday night but was granted bail later that same day.
He is scheduled to appear in court on March 12 to face charges.
