Yashasvi Jaiswal has decided to stay with the Mumbai domestic cricket team, reversing his earlier decision to move to Goa for the 2025–26 season. The talented left-handed opener had previously acquired a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) in preparation for his transfer.
In a new turn of events, Jaiswal has now written to the MCA, requesting that his NOC be revoked. In the email, accessed by Cricbuzz, he explained that the decision to relocate to Goa was driven by family considerations, which have now changed.
"I, the undersigned, would request your goodself to consider my request to withdraw my NOC given to me as I had some family plans in shifting to Goa, which for now has been curtailed! So, I sincerely request MCA to allow me to play for Mumbai this season. I have not submitted the NOC to BCCI nor to the Goa Cricket Association," Jaiswal stated.
The MCA has yet to respond to Jaiswal’s request. The final decision is likely to involve consultation with the BCCI and the Goa Cricket Association, as revoking an already issued NOC is an uncommon move.
Jaiswal’s earlier decision to shift to Goa—where he had reportedly been offered the captaincy—came as a surprise, especially given his deep roots in Mumbai cricket. He rose through the city's age-group system and made his mark in the domestic circuit representing Mumbai.
