Kuwait Women kicked off their ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Asia Qualifier 2025 campaign with a solid 35-run win over Bhutan Women at the Terdthai Cricket Ground in Bangkok on May 12, 2025.

Opting to bat first, Kuwait Women posted 85/3 in their 13 overs, thanks to a brisk 36 off 29 balls from opener Priyada Murali, who was later named Player of the Match. Zeefa Jilani added 16 runs, while Balasubramani Shanti remained unbeaten on 16 to give Kuwait a competitive total. Bhutan’s Sonam Choden was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 3-0-16-2.

In reply, Bhutan Women managed only 50/6 in their allotted 13 overs. Despite a fighting 16 from Ngawang Choden and 13* by Sonam Choden, the batting lineup struggled against disciplined bowling from Kuwait. Maria Jasvi took two wickets, while Zeefa Jilani and Priyada Murali chipped in with one apiece.

This victory gives Kuwait a crucial boost in their group stage standings as they continue their journey in the Asia Qualifier for a spot in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2025.
