Gujarat Titans (GT) captain Shubman Gill has reached 4,500 runs in T20 cricket during Match 5 of IPL 2025 against Punjab Kings (PBKS) at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. The Indian vice-captain in ODIs attained this feat with his 29th run in the match.
T20 Career Highlights
Gill surpassed the 4,500-run mark in his 146th T20 match. His impressive tally includes six centuries and 26 half-centuries. Over 3,200 of these runs have come in the IPL, while he has also amassed 578 runs from 21 T20Is for Team India.
Gill’s IPL Journey
Gill began his IPL career with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in 2018. His breakthrough season came in 2020, scoring 440 runs at an average of 33.84. He was a key contributor to KKR's 2021 final appearance, scoring 478 runs at 28.11 before joining GT in 2022.
Gill’s Performance for GT
In GT’s title-winning IPL 2022 season, Gill scored 483 runs at 34.50. He peaked in IPL 2023, amassing a stunning 890 runs from 17 matches at 59.33, just behind Virat Kohli’s 973-run record (2016). In IPL 2024, he continued his form with 426 runs at 38.72. With over 1,800 IPL runs, he is GT’s highest run-scorer.
