Water leakage from the ceiling of the Gaddafi Stadium washroom during the first rainfall after its swift renovation has raised concerns over construction quality. The stadium, revamped in just 117 days for the Champions Trophy, saw criticism after a video showing the leakage went viral on social media.

Previously, fan misconduct was highlighted when spectators damaged stadium chairs during the Afghanistan vs England match at Gaddafi Stadium, with videos of the destruction also circulating online.

A similar incident occurred at Karachi’s National Stadium during the Afghanistan vs South Africa match, where fans reportedly damaged stadium property.

These stadiums, including Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, were upgraded under the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) ?12.80 billion project to improve facilities for the Champions Trophy 2025. However, the recent issues have raised questions about the execution and quality of these rapid renovations.
