The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season is heating up, and all eyes are on the upcoming clash between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) scheduled for April 3 at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata. The average first-innings score last season was 198, with a strike rate of 10.5 runs per over—stats that suggest fans could be in for another high-scoring thriller on April 3. However, KKR’s Shubman Gill noted that the pitch can occasionally assist pacers, as seen in their recent loss to RCB. “It’s a 250-run wicket at times, but it can help bowlers too. We need to adapt,” Gill said ahead of the match.  

For SRH, the key will be to capitalize on the batting-friendly conditions early on. Their top order, featuring the likes of Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma, will aim to set a solid platform, while Heinrich Klaasen’s explosive middle-order hitting could prove decisive. KKR, meanwhile, will rely on their dynamic opener Sunil Narine and the in-form Venkatesh Iyer to provide a strong start.
