England have announced their squads for the upcoming ODI and T20I series against the West Indies, with Harry Brook set to lead in both formats. Will Jacks makes his return to the limited-overs side, having last featured against West Indies in November 2024. Pacer Matthew Potts also finds a place in both squads after playing his last ODI against Australia in September 2024 and a T20I against New Zealand in December 2024.

Tom Hartley returns to the ODI setup for the first time since September 2023. Liam Dawson and Luke Wood, who last played T20Is in 2022 and 2023 respectively, are back for the shortest format. Brydon Carse, who had exited the Champions Trophy due to a toe injury, is named in both squads. Rehan Ahmed, who replaced Carse during that tournament, features only in the T20I squad.

Twelve players from England’s Champions Trophy squad have been retained for the ODIs against West Indies. Notably, Mark Wood misses out due to a knee surgery in March and is sidelined for four months. Phil Salt and Liam Livingstone are also excluded from the ODI setup.

Salt and Livingstone are currently playing for Royal Challengers Bengaluru, while Jos Buttler represents Gujarat Titans in the IPL. Will Jacks, part of the Mumbai Indians, may also be involved in the playoffs. The IPL final, delayed to June 3 due to India-Pakistan border tensions, overlaps with the ODI series.

Salt is expected to return for the T20Is, while Livingstone is out of both formats. Among those who played the recent T20I series against India, Jofra Archer, Gus Atkinson, Jamie Smith, and Mark Wood are also omitted.

The West Indies tour of England begins at the end of May. The ODI series kicks off on May 29 in Birmingham, followed by matches on June 1 in Cardiff and June 3 at The Oval. The T20Is will take place on June 6 (Chester-le-Street), June 8 (Bristol), and June 10 (Southampton).
