Kohli Becomes First Player to Score 1000 IPL Runs Against Four Teams

Historic Milestone in His 400th T20 Match

Virat Kohli, the all-time leading run-scorer in IPL history, created history on March 22, 2025, by becoming the first player to score 1000 or more runs against four different teams in the Indian Premier League. He reached this landmark against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in his 35th IPL match against them during the opening game of IPL 2025 at Eden Gardens.

Before KKR, Kohli had already surpassed the 1000-run mark against Chennai Super Kings (1053), Delhi Capitals (1057), and Punjab Kings (1030). The RCB opener needed 38 runs in this match to reach the milestone and accomplished it by taking a single off Sunil Narine’s delivery in the 10th over.
